1. Agreement to these terms

By visiting anchorofhopehomes.org, submitting a form, applying for housing, texting or emailing us, or making a donation, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or submit information through it.

If you are using this site on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these terms for that organization.

2. Who we are and what this site is

Anchor of Hope Homes is a veteran founded nonprofit organization providing transitional and long term shared housing across Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, California. In these terms, "Anchor of Hope Homes," "we," "us," and "our" refer to Anchor of Hope Homes, and "you" refers to anyone who uses this website or communicates with us through it.

This website exists to explain who we serve, describe our homes and our process, accept housing inquiries and applications, and accept partner, referral, and donor inquiries. The information on it is general and is offered in good faith.

3. This website is not an offer of housing

We may correct, update, or remove information on this site at any time without notice.

4. Eligibility and applications

Our housing serves adults ages 18 to 65, including people coming out of incarceration and people in recovery. Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply. You must be at least 18 years old to submit an application or to use this website to request services.

• You agree that the information you give us in an inquiry or an application is true, accurate, and complete to the best of your knowledge.
• Providing false or materially incomplete information is grounds for denying an application, and for ending a residency that was granted based on that information.
• Applications are reviewed against our eligibility criteria, current availability, and the safety and suitability of the specific home. We may decline an application, and we may place limits or conditions on a placement.
• We may verify what you tell us, including by contacting references, prior housing providers, employers, or referring programs, when you have authorized us to do so.
• Any timeline we describe for review or placement is an estimate, not a commitment.

5. Residency is governed by a separate agreement

If you are approved and move into one of our homes, your rights and responsibilities as a resident are set by the residency documents you sign at that time, which may include a residency or occupancy agreement, house rules, program participation terms, and any required disclosures. Those documents, not this website and not these terms, govern your residency.

Where these Terms of Service and a signed residency document conflict, the signed residency document controls for matters of residency.

6. We do not provide medical, legal, or clinical advice

Anchor of Hope Homes is a housing provider. We are not a licensed medical facility, a licensed treatment or detoxification program, a mental health provider, a law firm, or a financial advisory service, and we do not hold ourselves out as any of those.

Information on this website and in our communications is general information about housing, not medical, clinical, legal, immigration, tax, or financial advice. Do not rely on it as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional, and do not delay seeking professional care because of something you read here.

7. This is not an emergency or crisis service

8. Email, text, and phone communications

When you give us your phone number or email address, you agree that we may contact you at them about your inquiry, your application, and your residency, including by automated means where permitted by law.

• Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
• Reply STOP to any text to opt out. Reply HELP for help.
• You can unsubscribe from marketing email using the link at the bottom of any such email.
• Agreeing to receive texts or emails is never a condition of applying for housing or receiving services from us. If you opt out, we will contact you another way.
• Email and text are not secure. Do not send identification documents, medical records, or financial account details through them. Ask us and we will provide a secure method.

How we handle the information you send us is described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Donations

• Donations made through this website are voluntary and, unless we state otherwise in writing, are final and nonrefundable. If a gift was made in error or a duplicate was charged, contact us and we will work with you in good faith.
• Payments are handled by an outside payment processor. We do not receive or store your full card number or bank account details.
• Unless a gift is formally restricted in writing and accepted by us as restricted, all gifts are unrestricted and are used where the need is greatest.
• We may decline or return a gift where accepting it would conflict with our mission, our policies, or our legal obligations.

10. Fair housing and nondiscrimination

Anchor of Hope Homes is committed to equal housing opportunity. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, sex, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, marital status, familial status, age, disability, medical condition, genetic information, military or veteran status, source of income, citizenship or immigration status, primary language, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.

Eligibility decisions are based on our published criteria, current availability, and the safety and suitability of the specific home. If you believe you were treated unfairly, contact us at [email protected] and we will review it.

11. Accessibility

We want this website and our homes to be usable by everyone. We work toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and we welcome requests for reasonable accommodation in our application process and in our housing.

12. Acceptable use of this website

You agree not to:

• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information, or impersonate another person or organization.
• Use the site or our forms to send spam, solicitations, or unlawful, abusive, threatening, harassing, or obscene material.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site, our accounts, our databases, or the information of applicants, residents, or donors.
• Introduce viruses or any other harmful code, or interfere with the operation of the site.
• Use automated tools to scrape, harvest, or copy content or contact information from the site.
• Use content from this site to identify, contact, or make assumptions about our residents.

We may suspend or block access to the site for anyone who violates these rules, and we may report unlawful activity to law enforcement.

13. Intellectual property

The content on this website, including text, graphics, photographs, logos, the Anchor of Hope Homes name and seal, page design, and code, is owned by Anchor of Hope Homes or used with permission, and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

You may view, download, and print pages for your personal, noncommercial use, or to refer someone to our services. You may not copy, republish, sell, or use our content or our name and logo for any other purpose without our written permission.

14. Content you submit to us

When you send us a message, a testimonial, a photograph, or other content through this website, you keep ownership of it. You give us permission to store and use it for the purpose you sent it.

We will not publish a resident's or applicant's story, name, photograph, or likeness without separate written permission from that person. Permission can be withdrawn at any time by contacting us, and we will remove the material from anything we control going forward.

15. Third party websites and services

This site links to and relies on services operated by others, including our payment processor, our application and chat tools, partner organizations, and public resources. We do not control those services and we are not responsible for their content, their availability, or their practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

16. Disclaimer of warranties

This website and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and noninfringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim them.

We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, secure, or free of errors, that defects will be corrected, or that the information on it is complete, current, or accurate at every moment. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

17. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Anchor of Hope Homes and its directors, officers, staff, volunteers, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or loss of goodwill, arising out of your use of this website or your reliance on its content, even if we were advised such damages were possible.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of your use of this website will not exceed one hundred dollars ($100.00).

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or fraud. This section does not limit any rights you have as a resident under your residency documents or under California law.

18. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Anchor of Hope Homes and its directors, officers, staff, volunteers, and agents from any claim, demand, loss, or expense, including reasonable attorney fees, arising out of your misuse of this website, your violation of these terms, or your violation of the rights of another person.

19. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute arising out of these terms or your use of this website will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Riverside County, California, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

20. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as our programs, systems, and legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the updated terms. If a change is significant, we will make a reasonable effort to highlight it on the site.

21. General provisions

• Entire agreement. These terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding this website, and they replace any earlier understandings about it.
• Severability. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
• No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision, that is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
• Assignment. You may not assign these terms. We may assign them to a successor organization.
• Headings. Section headings are for convenience and do not affect interpretation.
